Rockland/Rockport Maine July 25, 2009

At Rockland we saw the 7/8 of a mile long break water with the light house at the end of the breakwater. In the background you can see a fog bank rolling in therefore, we did not take walk out on the breakwater as it is not safe to walk out there in bad or foggy weather.

We used the telephoto feature on the camera to take this shot.

We saw this old train engine at the lime quarry in Rockport Harbor

In the distance you can see the fog rolling in again. The island in the background is Curtis Island, there is a lighthouse on the island.

When we arrived at Rockport it was still rather clear but the fog from Owls Head and Rockland was on it's way. We actually ended up driving a good portion of the way home in the fog.

In the late 1970's a Harbor Seal came to live in Rockport Harbor. After he died a memorial was made in his honor.
